Wise County Wranglers began as a drill team, thanks to Rita Winters, Maria Weston and Paula Thomas and a few other dedicated
members back in the late 1980s. Interest in playdays took over in the 90s and difficulties finding time to keep
up with drill practices and other activities soon overtook the team. The spark of fun and love of drill team was introduced
to many of the kids of our club a few years ago by Maria Weston and Paula Thomas. We have enjoyed watching
the kids over the years get together and put together a drill here and there for special occassions like our Spirit of Christmas
Benefit playday each year. The team "teamed up" this spring (2003) when a community rodeo was looking for a pivot team.
And since then we have enjoyed National Association of Riding Clubs Mini-Comps , community rodeos and parades. The drill
team wishes to express a thank you to the club for their support in their activities this year and the NARC&SP.
